Fynis has the psionic ability to perceive the last place someone has been, in great detail. As a person lingers in one place, the energy of the world around them "settles" and becomes more well-defined. For example, if someone travels to the Forever Forest, taking several days to cross it, Fynis would be able to see that they have been in a densely wooded area for X quantity of time, and be able to identify any unique landmarks they spent more than a few seconds at/around. The accuracy of Fynis' ability is directly related to the amount of time someone has spent in a given place. If they linger more than 5 minutes, Fynis' perception is immaculate.
As a Demori, Fynis not only occupies a humanoid form, but has a "true" or transformational form as well. Various states of heightened awareness begin to reveal the strictly Demori features: fangs, pointed ears, serpentine pupils, and talons, alongside darkened skin and hair. When enraged or otherwise provoked, the full transformation reveals an increased stature, golden-streaked hair, golden serpentine eyes, and a darkened aura to those capable of perceiving it. In his true form, Fynis' speed and strength are augmented by the capacity to move in a pseudo-gelatinous fashion, his body becoming somewhat amorphous. The capacity to which he is capable of achieving and maintaining this form is relative to the quantity of light present in the area. In full light, his movement is not significantly augmented, but his strength becomes noticeably enhanced. In normal light (dusk, or well-lit room), his movements become "stretched" and allow him increased dexterity and dodging. In dim light, amoeboid movements allow greater mobility and make him significantly more difficult to hit. In total darkness, his movement is silent and his body is almost completely insubstantial, capable of moving around objects and through tiny spaces. The effects become more pronounced with blood consumption. Fynis may occupy this form for up to 30 minutes in sustained combat, or up to 5 minutes at a stretch. After returning to a normal state, Fynis will need to fully consume a creature with a mass one-half that of his own in order to immediately return to transformation, or allow himself a full resting period alongside normal consumption before achieving the state again. Demori abilities are relative to age, but are limited to the amount of essence a Demori has consumed, above what is needed to sustain them.

Summary: Fynis is military, and good at it. However, he behaves more like a tinkerer than a mercenary. Every situation he encounters is, for him, about the secrets he can delve. More curious than bloodthirsty, his Demori tendencies only take predominance when enraged or inebriated.
History: Fynis Kaore was considered strange by Demori standards; taking his mother's propensity to spend great quantities of time studying objects, he would often pour as much attention into the act of picking apart an animal as actually consuming it. Fynis' mother was a mistress of the Daemahr Faction's Kuska Kaore-known for his affluence in melee combat against multiple foes. The Kaore lineage is highly integrated with the Daemahr, and at 14, Kuska returned to introduce Fynis to a military career.
Fynis approached his station in the Faction with the same analytic method he had approached the dissection of plants and animals as a child in play. Performing well, he was promoted to Lieutenant quickly, and primarily served to relay sensitive material to higher officers. He was promoted to Corporal after identifying a Fraya informant via his capacity to know the last place a person has been, in great detail. Fynis was then allotted a small squad of subordinates to manage as operatives of the Daemahr, and pursued a few campaigns both for profit and per orders. Fynis specializes in interrogations and identifying and neutralizing VIPs.
During an independent operation, his platoon acquired an old, worn book built of a sturdy material. Examining its contents revealed intricate diagrams of the body and an abundance of formulas, all written in an unfamiliar language. Piqued, Fynis resigned the Daemahr and took the book, a small portion of profit, and his military pay and left for Aina.
